Job summary
Miller Transportation Group in Logan Township, NJ is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to service Class 1–8 trucks within our expanding fleet. This role offers the stability of a family‑owned company with modern shop facilities and comprehensive benefits.
You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose engine codes, repair brakes and suspensions, and replace transmissions and clutches. A CDL is required or trainable; hours are Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; compensation is
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic.
- Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors.
- A valid CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of our trainer.
- Hand tools
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
- Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
- Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
- Replace clutches & transmissions
