Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Nazareth, PA is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to perform maintenance and repair on heavy-duty vehicles. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for certification and quarterly bonuses.

Hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm on weekdays with weekends off, and a strong focus on safety and modern diagnostics. Eligible employees receive medical, dental, vision coverage and PTO from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work, required.
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass Ryder Drug Test; pass a DOT physical; pass a Ryder road test; pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes of basic failures and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Follows safety and DOT/MOT guidelines.
