Southwest International Trucks in McKinney, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Technician A to join our McKinney team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and incentives.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems, perform routine service tasks, interpret wiring diagrams, and uphold safety standards while delivering quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Advanced heavy-duty diesel diagnostic and repair competency.
• ASE Master MD Truck status preferred.
• Technical leadership, communication and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect diesel engines and related systems with handheld tools and diagnostics.
• Repair components and perform engine overhauls when needed.
• Carry out routine servicing including oil changes and brake checks.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, fault trees, service bulletins and OEM procedures.
• Maintain accurate service records for compliance and warranty.

Diesel Mechanic / Technician A

Location: McKinney, TX

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation: 25% of Door Rate + full benefits

Position Overview

Southwest International Trucks is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Technician A to join our McKinney Team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and company incentives.

Job Responsibilities

• Inspection & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and related systems (fuel, ignition, exhaust, emissions, electrical) using handheld scan tools, laptop-based diagnostics and traditional mechanical tests
• Repair & Overhaul: Replace or repair components such as injectors, glow plugs, turbochargers, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems; perform full engine overhauls when needed
• Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, wheel alignments and brake checks
• Interpret wiring diagrams, fault trees, service bulletins, and OEM repair procedures
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service and maintenance records for compliance and warranty purpose
• Safety Compliance: Follow shop and workplace safety protocols while handling tools, parts, and equipment
• Complete assigned tasks within established timeframes
• Assist with difficult repairs, quality concerns, technician coaching and perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Advanced heavy-duty diesel diagnostic and repair competency
• Advance OEM certifications required by service leadership
• ASE Master Medium-Heavy Truck status preferred
• Technical leadership, communication, and mentoring ability
• Ability to work independently and mage assigned repair time
• Ownership of tools and toolbox

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Pre-employment drug screening
• Pre-employment physical examination
