Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a skilled diesel/heavy-duty vehicle technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units. The role involves road calls and documenting work orders for all services performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Candidates should have 5+ years in medium to heavy-duty repair and at least 2 years in A/C refrigeration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 5–7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience.
• 2+ years of experience in A/C refrigeration is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related components.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and other systems; replace parts as needed.
• Ensure roadworthiness by verifying licensing and registrations.
• Document all repairs and PMs in the online work order system.
• Install and repair onboard computers as necessary.
• Use hand and power tools to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
• Train other employees as needed.
