Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Tampa, FL.

• Hourly Pay: $30.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational/technical certifications or post-secondary degrees (preferred)
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines, including:
• Preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)
• Diagnostics and repairs (including AC and electrical systems)
• At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred)
• Valid CDL Class A (preferred)
• All location-specific certifications required

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience with heavy and medium-duty repairs and diagnostics
• Computer skills (PC, Windows, etc.)

This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To qualify, you must:

• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including:
• Standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnostics and repairs using computer systems
• Mechanical inspections and component replacements
• Work independently on most tasks
• Facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
• Use shop management and electronic documentation systems
• Follow safety and compliance guidelines
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and utilize maintenance documents
• Support operations as needed, including service island support
• Complete OEM diagnostic courses within specified timeframes
