Pay range: $15.00 - $32.00 per hour DEQ plus $8.00/billed hour commission.

The Shop Diesel Mechanic/Technician is responsible for performing mechanical repairs in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
- Perform PMs and oil changes
- Grease trucks and trailers
- Perform tire services
- Conduct CSA/DOT inspections
- Handle service calls and night call outs
- Perform intermediate to advanced electrical repairs and diagnoses
- Complete wheel end repairs (S-cam/bushing replacement, spindle repairs, etc.)
- Perform air system repairs (diagnostics, tank replacement, air bags, leveling valves, etc.)
- Conduct HVAC repairs (evacuate & recharge, identify failures)
- Complete coolant repairs (thermostat, water pump, hoses, radiator, etc.)
- Perform basic welding
- Conduct starting/charging diagnostics and repairs
- Complete engine repairs (belts, tensioners, pulleys)
- Perform steering and suspension repairs
- Handle drivetrain and transmission repairs
- Maintain shop cleanliness and equipment
- Ensure proper parts and tire storage
- Complete work orders accurately
- Ensure customer satisfaction and safety compliance
- Adhere to all safety policies and complete OSHA training
- Provide friendly customer service
- Report to work as scheduled
Additional Duties:
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Tire Service Certified by TIA within 18 months
- Air Brake Certification
- DOT Medical Card required
- Minimum two years diesel technician experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and insurability
- Complete brake and wheel seal training
- Attend HVAC, electrical, and DOT training
- Obtain ASE, DOT, TIA, and other certifications
- Work weekends, holidays, and as needed
- Reliable transportation and phone
- English communication skills
- Provide courteous customer service
- Work well with team members
- Proficiency in Tech I training requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs.
- Frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
