Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Roanoke, Virginia.

Benefits and Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $22.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 four times per year
• Sign-on Bonus: $1250 after 30 days and another $1250 after 90 days
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: First shift, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational/technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance
• Two or more years of related experience or training preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

Note: Position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:

• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems
• Identify root causes and perform repairs
• Replace defective components
• Facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
• Use shop management systems and electronic documentation
• Comply with safety and regulatory guidelines
• Support duties as required, including service island support
