Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Richland, Mississippi.

• Hourly Pay: $28.36 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
• Sign-On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second shift, 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
  • Routine preventative maintenance
  • Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in heavy and medium-duty equipment repairs
• Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse

• Additional Requirements:

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background and motor vehicle checks

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including:
• Standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems
• Complete detailed inspections and repairs
• Replace defective components
• Work independently on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
• Use shop management and electronic documentation systems
• Comply with safety and regulatory guidelines
• Mentor junior technicians
• Access and utilize maintenance documents
• Support operations as needed, including service island tasks
• Complete OEM diagnostic courses within specified timeframes
