Transdev in Fairfax County seeks a Mechanic – Technical Support Supervisor to supervise a diesel technician team, diagnose failures, and coordinate maintenance and repair work. The role emphasizes strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication to ensure reliable mobility solutions.

The position includes oversight of preventive maintenance, training coordination, and tool calibration, with opportunities to contribute to service improvements and technology transitions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years quality inspector experience.
• Experience with quality control techniques such as Six
• Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
• Basic math skills, analytic skills, documentation and reporting
• Considerable knowledge of and ability to use personnel computers and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Supervise diesel technician team and coordinate activities.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and root cause.
• Oversee Preventive Maintenance Programs.
• Analyze technical data and root causes of failures.
• Coordinate training needs with Trainers.
• Review repair work orders for proper root cause and diagnosis.
• Support transition into ZEB’s with high voltage experience.
• Provide support to Apprenticeship program.
• Ensure diagnostic tools are updated and calibrated.
• Identify tools and equipment needs.
• Research new technology and service.
• Make recommendations for Service Bulletins and SOPs.
• Develop reliability campaigns and oversee implementation.
• Identify warrantable failures and trends.
