Job summary

County Waste Complex LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic/Tech to maintain engines and equipment on waste collection trucks and to provide courteous service to our drivers. You will engage with drivers daily and contribute to the community by ensuring safe, reliable vehicle operation.

The role includes performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, with opportunities for career growth and excellent benefits. This full-time position emphasizes safety and hands-on mechanical work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance principles.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment diagnostics and repair principles.
• Skills in the use of tools and equipment used in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in welding.
• Skill in troubleshooting and identifying problems and devising related solutions.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, problem diagnostics, and repairs on Company vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoots vehicle and equipment operations problems, diagnoses and makes repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to standard schedules.
• Adjusts, repairs or replaces parts and equipment.
• Attends safety meetings and classes.
• Maintains tools and equipment.
• Maintains a safe and tidy shop.
• Welds and fabricates parts as needed.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
