Job summary

Matter Management Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain engines and equipment on our waste collection trucks. You will work closely with truck drivers to ensure reliable service for the community.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment, plus welding and fabrication as needed. Travel is not required.

• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance principles.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment diagnostics and repair principles.
• Skills in the use of tools and equipment used in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Skill in oral and written communication.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs preventive maintenance, problem diagnostics, and repairs on Company vehicles and equipment.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Troubleshoots vehicle and equipment operations problems, diagnoses and subsequently makes repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to standard schedules.
• Adjusts, repairs or replaces parts and equipment.
• Attends safety meetings and classes.
• Maintains tools and equipment.
• Maintains a safe and tidy shop.
• Welds and fabricates parts as needed.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPLEXITY

The work consists of related vehicle and equipment maintenance duties. The variety of equipment to be maintained contributes to the complexity of the position.

The purpose of this position is to participate in the maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
