Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a skilled Mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel tractors, trailers, and related equipment. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems, and ensuring work complies with OSHA regulations.

You will collaborate with management to plan tasks and uphold safety standards on-site. Adjustments may include component replacement, part inspections, and occasional travel to service company equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel tractors, trailers and other wheeled equipment.
• Explain complex repairs to Terminal Manager or Supervisor.
• Enforce CEMEX safety policies and regulations.
• Ensure repairs comply with OSHA regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance per PM checklist.
• Plan routine work procedures.
• Raise vehicles for access with hydraulic jack or hoist.
• Inspect and replace components as needed.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Adhere to all safety rules and wear protective equipment.
• Some regional travel may be required.
• Enter work orders for inventory purposes.
