Job summary

Blackhawk Mining, LLC is currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair underground mining equipment on site. The role emphasizes safety, preventive maintenance, and strict adherence to procedures.

You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild equipment using blueprints and manuals, perform tests, and follow lockout/tagout practices while working with hydraulics and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Underground diesel mechanic certification required.
• Annual 8-hour retraining completed.
• On-the-job experience in underground diesel maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on underground diesel mining equipment.
• Replaces parts on a scheduled basis and uses hoists and hand tools.
• Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and performs repairs or rebuilds.
• Uses blueprints and manuals to set up repairs.

\Diesel Mechanic\<\/b\>\

Essential Duties:\

\

• Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.\
\
• Performs preventive maintenance on underground diesel mining equipment. Replaces parts on a scheduled basis. Dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and hand tools.\
\
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses equipment malfunctions and replaces, repairs or rebuilds.\
\
• Uses blueprints and follows manuals and parts lists in setting up and performing repairs and any rebuilds.\
\
• Operate equipment to diagnose problems.\
\
• Perform other duties as required.\
\

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\

• Background in repair and maintenance of underground diesel equipment.\

• Ability to use prints and manuals.\

• Understanding of hydraulics.\
\
• Electrical systems.\

• Proper lifting / handling materials.\
\
• Lock and tag-out procedures.\
