Job summary

MPW Industrial Services in Romulus, MI, seeks a dependable Diesel Mechanic to support inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment in a fast-paced industrial setting. Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform advanced repairs with minimal supervision are required.

You will diagnose issues, replace worn components, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

3+ years diesel mechanic or heavy equipment maintenance experience with technical training or apprenticeship.
Experience with fleet/equipment maintenance in industrial settings is preferred.
Working knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and driveline components.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections on diesel trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.
Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, driveline, brake, suspension, and hydraulic issues.
Replace tires, clutches, brakes, and other worn components as needed.
Perform engine overhauls and driveline repairs, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
Maintain maintenance records and safety compliance; assist with field repairs as required.
