Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic II to diagnose, maintain, repair, and service diesel-powered equipment and vehicles across our operations. You will work with maintenance and manufacturing teams to minimize downtime and keep production running safely.

The role requires hands-on mechanical work, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A dependable team player mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
• Must be able to perform strenuous and heavy work.
• Flexibility in work hours and shifts.
• Must follow NWH Attendance Policy.
• Preferred lumber yard or sawmill experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, and drivetrains.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Work safely following all company safety procedures.
• Assist with fabrication and other mechanical projects as needed.
• Operate equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
