Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic II to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment across our North American operations. This hands-on role requires a minimum of 3 years’ diesel experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
• Must be able to perform strenuous and heavy work.
• Must follow NWH Attendance Policy.
• Effective communication with the service manager and coworkers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and drivetrains
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, log trailers, semi-trailers, and conveyors
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively
• Maintain accurate maintenance records
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Work safely while following all company safety procedures
• Assist with fabrication and other mechanical projects as needed
• Operate equipment as needed
• Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
