gpac is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Dayton, OH to perform maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The role requires diagnosing issues, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring safety and reliability across a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in diesel mechanics, a high school diploma, and possibly diesel certification. Work includes preventive maintenance, parts coordination, and timely repairs to keep fleets operational.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools to identify root causes.
• Repair engines, transmissions, braking and electrical systems as needed.
• Implement preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and records are kept accurately.
• Order parts and coordinate with the parts department for availability.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and repair documentation.
• Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Manager to prioritize work orders.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent repair needs to restore operation.
