Job summary

Vital Tech Solutions in Ohio is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment within a fast-paced shop environment. You will perform preventative maintenance, service hydraulic systems, and maintain precise repair logs.

The role requires 2+ years in diesel/heavy equipment, owning your own hand tools, and a CDL is preferred but not required. Shift is Mon-Fri, with welding/fabrication work as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel/heavy equipment/fleet maintenance experience.
• Own standard hand tools; shop equipment supplied by company.
• CDL Class A preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on diesel-powered equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service work.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, steering, suspension, and driveline assemblies.
• Troubleshoot and repair air brake systems and lighting/electrical faults.
• Complete tire service and general mechanical repairs.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Service HVAC and air conditioning systems on fleet equipment.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate equipment needs effectively.

Shift is Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm

Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced shop environment and capable of performing a wide range of maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty equipment and transport units.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on diesel-powered equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service work
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, steering components, suspension systems, and driveline assemblies

Requirements
