Job summary
Republic Services in Houston, TX is seeking a Diesel Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, braking, HVAC, suspension, and drive trains. You may perform basic tire work and provide on-site or road service to keep fleets running efficiently.
The role emphasizes diagnosing multi-system issues, welding/fabrication, and adherence to safety standards, with opportunities for professional growth and training.
Qualifications
- Experience diagnosing multi-system vehicle issues.
- Experience with Class 1-8 trucks or heavy-duty equipment is preferred.
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and repair maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, on-site and on the road.
- Repair chassis components, refuse bodies, braking, HVAC, and drive train systems.
- Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and perform basic welding/fabrication.
- Safely provide road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation promptly.
- Complete company training programs and adhere to safety and quality standards.
