Amwaste is offering a Diesel Mechanic position on the 3rd shift (8:00pm - 6:30am) to maintain and repair our waste collection trucks and equipment. This role collaborates with truck drivers and aims to keep our community reliable and safe through proactive maintenance.

The ideal candidate performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs with welding capabilities, and joins a team that values safety and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance principles.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment diagnostics and repair principles.
• Skills in the use of tools and equipment used in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in welding
• Skill in troubleshooting and identifying problems and in devising related solutions.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs vehicle and equipment operations problems.
• Adjusts, repairs or replaces parts and equipment.
• Welds and fabricates parts as needed.
• Maintains tools and shop; attends safety meetings and classes.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
