Job summary

Amwaste is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our waste-collection trucks and equipment. You will work with drivers, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose problems, and complete repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

This is a 2nd shift position (10:00 am to 8:00 pm) with competitive pay, paid vacation from day one, rich benefits including 401K, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of welding and fabrication as needed.

JOB SUMMARY_________________________________________________________________

Performs preventive maintenance, problem diagnostics, and repairs on Company vehicles and equipment. The hours of operation for this job will be 2nd shift work. Hours will be 10:00 am until 8:00 pm.

MAJOR DUTIES___________________________________________________________________

Troubleshoots vehicle and equipment operations problems, diagnoses and subsequently makes repairs

Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to standard schedules.

Adjusts, repairs or replaces parts and equipment.

Attends safety meetings and classes.

Maintains tools and equipment.

Maintains a safe and tidy shop.

Welds and fabricates parts as needed.

Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPLEXITY__________________________________________________________________________

The work consists of related vehicle and equipment maintenance duties. The variety of equipment to be maintained contributes to the complexity of the position.

The purpose of this position is to participate in the maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
