Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at our Birmingham, AL Service Center to perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet, including preventive maintenance and repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.

The role requires handling major repairs, AC and electrical system work, and the ability to lift 50lbs; candidates must have their own tools and preferably 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience. Full-time, Monday through Friday shifts available.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Able to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and electrical systems.
• Must have own tools.
• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet including preventative maintenance and repairs to class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.
• Execute repairs ranging from minor to major, including welding as location allows.
