Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Louisville to maintain and repair class 6–8 diesel equipment. You’ll perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs, working with a team to ensure safety and reliability of fleet operations.

Requires 2+ years of repair experience or accredited heavy-duty maintenance training, EPA refrigerant certification readiness, and a valid driver's license. Enjoy uniforms, tool allowance, comprehensive benefits, PTO, holidays, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• 2 years of tractor/trailer inspection and repair experience or tech school with heavy-duty maintenance certification.
• EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification within 90 days of hire (ASE, MACS or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic welding and mechanical skills.
• Basic hand tools for heavy-duty maintenance.
• Basic computer skills.
• Brake inspection qualified per FMCSA 396.25.
• Vehicle inspection qualified per FMCSA 396.19.
• Able to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment.
• Inspect and access equipment to perform required maintenance.
• Repair or rebuild components and systems as needed.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues and perform repairs.
• Adhere to DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA and related regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections and document results.
• Maintain proficiency with tools and equipment to boost productivity.
• Move trailers using a hostler and handle parts on repair orders.
• Operate specialized tooling and vehicles; keep the work area clean and organized.
• Interact with operations and shop management.
