Position: Service Tech IV

As a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV), you’ll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited supervision, in a safe and professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve, challenge yourself, and potentially advance into leadership roles within our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key part of your role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment, using independent judgment.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs/maintenance when required; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Complete and document work orders accurately and promptly.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies.
