The hours and location you’ll work in as a Diesel Mechanic with WM:
- 2nd Shift Monday – Friday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
- 3rd Shift Sunday – Thursday 9:00 pm to 5:30 am
- We’re committed to offering you stable hours for the financial security and work-life balance you need.
- The normal setting for this job is a repair/maintenance shop at our Newark, OH hauling site.
What you’ll do as a Diesel Mechanic:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Estimate time and material costs on repairs and parts.
- Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles to ensure safety for all employees and the community.
- Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
- Assist senior Mechanics with project work.
- Review and complete repairs on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards and safety procedures.
Minimum requirements to be considered:
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Be over 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without accommodations
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and physical

Work environment and physical demands:

- Work in both indoor garage/shop and outdoor conditions
