Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to service heavy-duty trucks, CNG, gas, and electric equipment across Eastern North Carolina. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and help maintain a safe, organized shop environment.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year of hands-on diesel experience, strong computer literacy, and the ability to use diagnostic software. You will train with experienced colleagues while following safety regulations and contributing to community

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; technical diploma is a plus.
At least 1 year of hands-on diesel mechanic experience.
Must be computer literate and willing to learn software systems.
Able to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a loud shop environment.
Must possess and maintain essential tools for heavy/hydraulic maintenance.
Strong commitment to safety regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy-duty diesel trucks and rolling stock.
Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot and solve issues.
Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner; procure parts; maintain work area.
Mentor and orient new team members to improve team skills.
