Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to service heavy-duty trucks, CNG, gas, and electric equipment across Eastern North Carolina. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and help maintain a safe, organized shop environment.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year of hands-on diesel experience, strong computer literacy, and the ability to use diagnostic software. You will train with experienced colleagues while following safety regulations and contributing to community

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical diploma is a plus.
• At least 1 year of hands-on diesel mechanic experience.
• Must be computer literate and willing to learn software systems.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a loud shop environment.
• Must possess and maintain essential tools for heavy/hydraulic maintenance.
• Strong commitment to safety regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy-duty diesel trucks and rolling stock.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot and solve issues.
• Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner; procure parts; maintain work area.
• Mentor and orient new team members to improve team skills.
