Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking skilled heavy-duty diesel mechanics for our fleet across Eastern North Carolina locations (Kinston, Greenville, Williamston, Wilson). This full-time role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid monthly over the first year, on top of your hourly rate.

You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild diesel trucks and related equipment using cutting-edge diagnostic software and traditional tools. A strong safety mindset and at least 1 year of hands-on experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; technical diploma is a plus.
• At least 1 year hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Must be computer literate and able to learn diagnostic software.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds in a loud, active repair shop environment.
• Must possess and maintain essential tools for heavy/hydraulic equipment maintenance.
• Strong commitment to safety, regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy-duty diesel trucks and rolling stock.
• Use diagnostic software and standard tools to troubleshoot and repair.
• Plan and schedule repairs; procure parts and maintain an organized workspace.
• Mentor and orient new team members to the shop’s standards.
