Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks skilled heavy-duty diesel mechanics to service a fleet of diesel trucks and equipment across Kinston, Greenville, Williamston, and Wilson in eastern North Carolina.

You’ll diagnose, repair, and rebuild powered units using diagnostic software and a full set of hand and power tools, plan repairs with our M5 planner, order parts, and keep a safe, organized workspace. A minimum of one year of diesel experience is required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; technical diploma is a plus.
At least 1 year hands-on diesel mechanic experience.
Computer literacy and willingness to learn our software systems.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds in a busy shop environment.
Owns and maintains essential heavy/hydraulic maintenance tools.
Commitment to safety regulations and compliance with laws.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy-duty diesel trucks and rolling stock.
Use diagnostic software alongside power and hand tools to solve issues.
Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner; procure parts; maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Assist in training and orienting new team members.
Maintain safety and compliance in a busy repair shop.
