Job summary

Salem Leasing in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers and other vehicles, joining a team known for reliability and service excellence.

You will diagnose issues, service brakes, transmissions, headlights and perform routine maintenance while following safety and DOT guidelines. The role offers opportunities to grow with a company recognized for its strong shop network and commitment to its people.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• CDL license preferred.
• Good driving record.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures.
• Diagnostic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, rel ine, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
