Salem Leasing is hiring Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers, and other vehicles. You will examine vehicles, replace brakes, adjust transmissions, and perform routine maintenance while following safety and DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• CDL license preferred.
• Good driving record & proven work history.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined.
• Plan work procedures using charts, manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain vehicle problem descriptions.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
