Job summary

GFL Environmental in Virginia is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to keep the fleet operating safely.

Join our team for a transparent, live-shop experience with paid interviews. Starting pay ranges from $25-$35 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours and benefits after probation. Shift favors 2pm-12am, Monday through Friday, with room to grow based on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks.
• Ability to diagnose issues via inspections and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with safety procedures in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
