Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment within our refuse fleet. Join a live shop environment with a transparent interview process and start pay between $25 and $35 per hour, with potential for higher compensation based on experience and certifications.

The role features a 2pm-12am shift, overtime after 40 hours, and benefits, including PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health coverage after 60

Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing issues on diesel refuse trucks.
  • Ability to repair diesel trucks and perform maintenance.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
  • Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $25-$35/hrMore pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 2pm-12am M-F.

Overtime after 40hrs worked.
