Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience as a Medium/Heavy Diesel Technician required.
  • Completed diesel/automotive certification programs or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical service on vehicles including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Read Repair Orders and execute repairs on trucks and engines.

Job Responsibilities For Diesel Technician
  • Perform technical service on vehicles and equipment, including troubleshooting, electrical, and diagnostics
  • Read Repair Orders and execute repairs on trucks, engines, and components
  • Install parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, etc.
  • Inspect safety devices and secure loose bolts
  • Lubricate parts and verify repairs through test drives
  • Communicate additional repair needs to Service staff
  • Tag warranty parts and maintain a safe, organized workspace
  • Follow safety procedures and seek assistance when needed
  • Participate in other projects as assigned
Required Skills For Diesel Technician
  • Positive attitude, motivated, with mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with brands like International, Isuzu, Ford, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, or Peterbilt
  • 1-2 years minimum work experience as a Medium/Heavy Diesel Technician
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Own a full set of personal hand tools
  • Knowledge of commercial truck and engine repair
  • Completed diesel/automotive certification programs or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with basic computer applications
  • High School Diploma/GED; vocational or technical certification preferred
