Job summary

Swift Transportation Company in Sparks, NV is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair company-owned tractors, trailers, and refrigerated units. The role offers hourly pay between $25.00 and $35.00 based on experience and a Friday–Tuesday schedule from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment hair drug screening.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and work orders.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs according to OEM, DOT, and company standards.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs, coding, and failure analysis.
• Utilize diagnostic software and repair tools to maintain fleet reliability.

What You'll Do

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll help maintain and repair company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.

Responsibilities include:
