Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman in Avenel, NJ to oversee maintenance of trucks, tractors, and trailers. You will coordinate preventive maintenance, supervise technicians, and ensure work aligns with OEM/DOT/Swift standards.

This role includes hands-on diagnostics and team leadership in a fast-paced shop environment. The position offers overtime eligibility, tool/boot purchases, training, PTAs, a 401(k), and comprehensive healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Pre-employment hair drug screening required.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to OEM/DOT/Swift specifications.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment.

Pay: $ 33-37 (Overtime After 40 Hours )

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.
• strong computer Diagnostic skills preferred.
