Job summary

Swift Transportation is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Sparks, NV to maintain and repair company trucks, trailers, and related equipment. You'll work Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, and earn $24.00–$35.00 per hour based on experience.

You'll receive hands-on OEM training, access to diagnostic tools, and opportunities for advancement within a large fleet of over 13,000 trucks and 60,000 trailers. A high school diploma and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment hair drug screening.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and work orders.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Complete repairs according to OEM, DOT, and company standards
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs, coding, and failure analysis
• Utilize diagnostic software and repair tools to maintain fleet reliability

What You'll Do

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll help maintain and repair company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
