Job summary

Inchcape is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in the United States (Kentucky region) to diagnose, repair, and maintain aerial work platforms and diesel/gas-powered heavy equipment. You will work in the workshop or on customer sites, using diagnostics tools and a range of shop equipment to ensure safe operation.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, engine and hydraulic system work, and timely completion of work orders within quoted labor hours. A valid license and personal tools are required.

Qualifications

  • Technical or trade school certification in mechanical services or related field preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in maintenance and servicing aerial work platform or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Experience with diesel and gas-powered equipment, hydraulics, engines, and electronically controlled systems.
  • Valid driver’s license required and ability to obtain base access.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair aerial work platform equipment and heavy equipment in workshop or field.
  • Inspect equipment, identify causes of failures, and determine parts to replace.
  • Perform overhauls, repairs, and calibrations on engines, ignition, steering and lift systems.
  • Repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, control modules, and sensors.
  • Complete preventive maintenance, servicing, tire changes, and routine repairs.
  • Accurately complete work orders and timecards daily.

Job description

Morrico Equiment is looking for a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our Equipment Service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, service, and maintain aerial work platform equipment and other diesel and gas-powered heavy equipment both in the workshop and at customer job sites.

What you’ll do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair aerial work platform equipment and other diesel and gas-powered heavy equipment in the workshop or field
  • Inspect equipment, identify the cause of mechanical failures, and determine required replacement parts
  • Perform overhauls, repairs, and calibrations on engines, ignition systems, steering and control systems, lift cylinders, and valve systems
  • Repair and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, control modules, and sensors
  • Perform instrumentation repair, valve adjustments, grinding, seating, and related mechanical repairs
  • Repair electronically controlled devices and systems on aerial work platforms and other heavy equipment
  • Use a wide range of testing equipment and shop tools for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and calibration
  • Overhaul exhaust systems and repair exhaust after-treatment systems when applicable
  • Perform emergency field repairs as needed
  • Complete preventative maintenance, servicing, tire changes, and routine repairs
  • Accurately complete work orders and timecards daily
  • Complete jobs within quoted labor hours and maintain productivity standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop and service truck if assigned
  • Properly maintain company tool inventory
  • Provide professional and responsive customer service to clients
About you
  • Technical or trade school certification in mechanical services or related field preferred
  • Two to three years of experience in the maintenance and servicing of aerial work platform equipment or other heavy equipment preferred
  • Experience with diesel and gas-powered equipment, hydraulics, engines, and electronically controlled systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to obtain DBIDS/Rapid Gate base access
  • Must provide basic personal tools required for the role, with additional required tools within twelve months of employment
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
