Job description

A large distributor is looking to add a dedicated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles in the Southwest Houston area. This is a 2nd or 3rd shift position, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics.

WORK SCHEDULE: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM or 10 PM - 6:30 AM

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Diagnose and repair mechanical problems in diesel trucks.
  2. Perform regular maintenance tasks on diesel-powered delivery trucks and other fleet vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
  3. Communicate effectively with team members and management to provide updates on repair status.
  4. Overhaul or replace worn or damaged parts using precision instruments, as well as power tools.
  5. Read blueprints/wiring diagrams to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to execute repairs.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. +2 years of related mechanical experience.
  2. High School Diploma or GED.
  3. Completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program or vocational school.
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
  5. Bilingual is a plus.
