Service Tech III

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III), you'll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:

1. Perform safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
2. Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
3. Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
4. Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment when required; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
5. Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
