Description

Technician for 2nd Shift (1pm - 9pm Monday - Friday)

Quarterly Performance Bonus!

Starting Pay Range: $22 to $35 based on experience

(does not include increase rates for approved certifications)

Position Summary

Maintains/repairs all types of company owned vehicles, including Gasoline, Diesel, Electric and Propane powered. Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions, and efficiently repairs the same.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions
2. Diagnoses mechanical malfunctions, determines parts needed, and orders through the parts rooms
3. Repairs engines, drive trains, front and rear ends, all air, electrical and hydraulic systems on company owned equipment
4. Repairs, on a minor and/or emergency basis, parts of bodies, i.e., doors, landing gear, etc.
5. Repairs all company forklifts
6. Makes road calls on disabled company vehicles and performs minor repairs on the road
7. Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled by Fleet Supervisor
8. Inspects vehicles during P.M. inspection to meet D.O.T. requirements
9. Repairs items not meeting D.O.T. standards; reports if not immediately repairable
10. Performs other tasks as instructed by Fleet Supervisor, including delivering trucks and picking up parts
11. Adheres to safety practices, company policies, and reports hazards
12. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED
2. Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred
3. 2+ years of Diesel/Automotive Technician experience
4. Military experience may substitute some requirements
5. In-person travel within service territories required
6. Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
7. Must supply automotive hand tools (excluding heavy-duty or diagnostic tools)
8. 3+ ASE certifications
9. Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack and forklift; repair experience preferred
10. Able to obtain and maintain Class C or A-CDL and medical card
11. Valid Texas Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
12. Ability to operate manual and standard transmissions

Physical Requirements

• Talk, hear, see (including various vision types)
• Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling, maneuvering
• Ability to enter/exit truck cabs using footholds and handholds
• Regularly lift and move up to 100 lbs
• Pushing/pulling force up to 100 lbs for tools and parts
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl
• Communicate verbally and in writing
• Hear voice commands in noisy environments
• Handle large trucks safely in tight spaces
