Job description

KAG is North America's largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering energy commodities, specialty products, merchant gases, and food products across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Position's Pay Range: Pay based on experience and Tech level

Hours: Shift days and times vary depending on location

Relocation: Reimbursement available

KAG is seeking to hire all levels of Diesel Mechanics - Apprentice, Levels I, II, III, and HM183 certified!

Position Summary:

This role involves performing general property and vehicle maintenance and repair duties safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of basic preventative maintenance and repair techniques for Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles, including tank trailer inspection and maintenance per FMCSA regulations, is required.

All fleet mechanic positions require performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties safely and accurately in a busy shop environment.

  • Fleet Mechanic Apprentices will receive hands-on training on preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs of Class 5-8 vehicles and tank trailers.
  • Levels I & II will learn to use maintenance software for work orders and records, and assist in preventive and repair tasks for trucks, tractors, and trailers.
  • Level III will build on prior duties and become qualified with certifications to evaluate, diagnose, and repair new technology.
  • HM183 will expand on Level III duties and become certified as a DOT commercial motor vehicle inspector, with at least 3 years signing test forms as a registered inspector.

Pay Range: To be discussed; General Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid vacation and holidays.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1-5 years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance/repair (depending on Tech level)
  • Current or ability to obtain Air Brake Certification per FMSCR 396.25
  • EPA 609 certification or ability to obtain through KAG

HM183 Positions Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proof of 3-year tank testing experience or 1 year under a qualified inspector, with ability to obtain DOT inspector certification through KAG

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds; assistance required for over 50 pounds
