Job summary

Swift Transportation Company is seeking Fleet Diesel Mechanics in Ocala, FL. The role offers pay from $22.00 to $33.00 per hour with a Tue-Sat schedule, 6am–5pm, and location at 2201 SW 57th Ave, Ocala, FL 34474.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance required.
• High School or equivalent diploma required.
• Driver's license required.
• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals and complete repair orders.
• Ability to use diagnostic software on tractors/trailers and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete quality preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company equipment including tractors and trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance to OEM/DOT/Swift specifications.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment; disassemble/reassemble heavy truck components.
• Perform tire maintenance and related tasks.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance preferred.
• High School or combination of training and/or experience required.
• Drivers license required.
• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders.
• Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers.
• Must possess computer skills.
