Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic in West Chicago to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. You will interpret work orders, service manuals and perform required repairs with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires physical capability, diagnostic skills and adherence to safety rules. A CDL is a plus, and periodic on-site work is expected in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Completion of college or vocational or technical training, a plus.
• Experience with routine maintenance operations is required.
• A valid CDL driver license is a plus.
• Must be 21 years of age, or older.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment
• Interprets work orders and technical manuals
• Keeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained
• Diagnoses faults or malfunctions
• Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems
• Obey all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rules
• Undertake the training and assessment required under the training plan
