Job summary

ExxonMobil is expanding its Global Trading organization and seeks an experienced Diesel & Jet Fuel Trading Analyst to join the Refined Products Trading team. The role will collaborate with traders, originators, quantitative analysts, schedulers, and stakeholders to support trading, optimization, and portfolio management across North American and global middle distillates markets.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative discipline.
• Experience analyzing refined products markets within trading, refining, consulting, utility, merchant, producer, or financial organization.
• Strong understanding of diesel, jet fuel, gasoil, and refined products market fundamentals.
• Experience developing market forecasts, analytical models, or commercial insights used to support business decisions.
• Experience supporting trading, portfolio management, optimization, or commercial strategy activities.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, or other analytical tools.
• Experience working with market data, forward curves, inventories, refinery data, and large datasets.
• Ability to translate analysis into actionable trading and commercial insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Researching, analyzing, and interpreting market fundamentals across North America and global markets.
• Developing market views and forward price outlooks to support trading strategies.
• Monitoring refinery operations, utilization rates, inventories, and transport flows.
• Analyzing regional supply and demand balances for diesel, jet fuel, gasoil, heating oil, and related markets.
• Evaluating impacts of seasonal demand, aviation trends, and macro factors on pricing.
• Identifying trading opportunities from market dislocations and logistic constraints.
• Supporting optimization of logistics, storage, blending, and positions across portfolios.
• Developing and maintaining analytical models for crack spreads and arbitrage opportunities.
• Building Python-based analytics, forecasting tools, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
• Conducting scenario analysis and market impact assessments.
• Supporting evaluation of structured transactions and storage opportunities.
• Producing market commentary and analysis for traders and stakeholders.
• Collaborating with trading, quantitative, risk, logistics, and data teams.
