Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Fleet Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a range of Company vehicles and heavy equipment. You will diagnose automotive systems, service hydraulic components, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 2+ years of diesel/hydraulic repair experience, and a valid driver’s license with potential CDL within 12 months. ASE and Fluid Power Society certifications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 2 years of automotive mechanical diagnosis experience with hydraulic and diesel repair.
• Graduation from an automotive trade school with diesel engine experience is highly desirable.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and obtain Class A CDL within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on sedans, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.
• Service hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders and accumulators.
• Inspect and repair braking, steering, exhaust, fuel and ventilation systems.
