Job summary

HOLT CAT in Laredo, Texas is seeking a diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment. This entry-level position expects two or more years of relevant experience, with on-site work at 101 South Aviators, Laredo, TX 78043.

You will read schematics, use a broad set of tools, and collaborate with a skilled team. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, disassembly/assembly to OEM specs, and mentoring junior technicians while maintaining safety and productivity in a busy shop

Qualifications

Two years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
Ability and knowledge to read/use schematics and diagrams; experience is preferred.
Graduation from a diesel technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment per manufacturer specifications.
Disassemble and reassemble machine components to manufacturer specifications using hand and power tools.
Maintain clean and safe work areas and adhere to safety policies; follow established procedures.
Mentor and help train other technicians.
Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
