Qualifications

• Work experience involving independent performance of job duties in repair and maintenance of diesel powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Experience with diesel powered vehicles and heavy equipment to diagnose and perform repairs/maintenance.
• Must obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair and maintenance service for agency's vehicle and equipment fleet.
• Inspects gasoline powered vehicles and equipment to assess the repair and maintenance needed.
• Supervises inmate worker and provides hands on training in the automotive repair field.
• Performs after hour vehicle recovery services on an on‑call basis.
• Assists in maintaining tool, material, equipment and supply inventories at vehicle maintenance facility.
