Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation & Natural Resources seeks a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic for Hickory Run State Park Complex. You will maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel and gasoline vehicles and heavy equipment, and keep detailed maintenance records.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, body repairs, tire changes, battery work, system inspections, and assisting other parks with diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Must complete the Commonwealth's Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program.
• Two years journey-level mechanic experience including diesel vehicles or equipment.
• Active Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification (Class 1/4/7) on day one.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel and gasoline vehicles and heavy construction equipment assigned to Hickory Run State Park Complex and Region 4 Swing Crew.
• Keep detailed records and reports of repairs, servicing, and maintenance work.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, body repairs, tire changes, battery work, and systems inspections.
• Assist other parks with diagnostics and repair of their vehicles and equipment.
