As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for safely performing skilled work in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of diesel powered vehicles and heavy construction equipment assigned to both Hickory Run State Park Complex and the Region 4 Regional Swing Crew.
This position is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of the park's gasoline vehicle fleet and may be required to assist other parks with the diagnostics, and repair of their vehicles and equipment, both diesel and gasoline.
Specific examples of vehicles and equipment serviced may include cars, trucks, tractors, heavy and light equipment including mowers, backhoes, tractors, skid-steer, chain saws, plows, cement mixers, brush saws, generators, leaf blowers, snowmobiles, trail groomers, and more.
You will conduct preventative maintenance tasks, as well as make body repairs, change batteries and change tires, repair tires and tubes, balance wheels, repair wiring, repair and replace lights, change oil and filters and hydraulic filters and screens, check antifreeze and winterize all vehicles and equipment.
It is essential to keep detailed records and reports of repairs, servicing, and maintenance work done to all vehicles and equipment.

Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week and will include a 30-minute lunch.
Work may be scheduled on weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed.
